brake conversion on EG noise from integra?
ok so I did a brake conversion on my eg to integra brakes, now on my right side i hear a weird thump noise only when i first back up and first go forward, it doesnt happen after the first braking. a guy at a shop told me that its kinda normal for some reason that it happens on all integras so im asking all you integ experts wut do you guys think and does that happen to your brakes when u brake u hear a thump for the first time only and everytime your car goes from back and forth? appreciate any feed back thanks.
sounds like the pads are moving. If you dont put the clips back on the caliper braket. there is some play between the pad backing and the caliper brakcet. usuially the pads will move about a 1/4 inch, and that will give u a clunking sound. same with reverse.
mind you, some aftermarket pads, even after market OE's like monroe or raybestos pads can sometimes be larger then OEM, so they dont need the clips.

yea i thought it was that but at midas said that the pads and hardware were all fit right..but also the brake pads and rotors are all the same for the 94-01 integras right? theres no difference in submodels? cuz i dont know what year the gsr brakes are from...
I know all the brakes are the same, what i'm sayin is, the metal backing is slightly dffrent from company to company, some are just a few mm shorter. thats my theory as to the noise anyway
ahh icz okz well ima be able to get access to a shop next week so ima check it out then, it could be the knuckle joints or the bushings are loose? i'll be replacing the pads n rotors then too so i'll let u guys know wuts up. Oh and also b18c or k20? dunno which one should go for so i wanna do more readin up on those two engines, any suggestions?
