alight so i recently decide since i have 2 spare valve covers for no reason why not paint them how i want. so i know nothing about painting or what needs protected.

do i just need to sand down the valve cover good, tape off the spark blug holes?

do i need to worry about not getting paint on the under side?

what kind of paint would you recomend?

also i have seen people shave off the lettering on the valve cover, how is this done?

i already knew about that thread, i never asked to SEE valve covers that are painted, i asked HOW to paint a valve cover...
