ttt

one question, on the distributor cap, is there supposed to be a carbon type piece that goes where that spring is? cause on my dizzy i have the spring (i believe it fits between the cap and the igntion coil) but i dont have a little piece that goes in with the spring. is something other then the spring supposed to be there, or will that make a difference ?

ok i know the spring is supposed ot be there, but is a charcoal piece supposed to? because i have only seen those on obd0, like on my hatch, but i swear i never had a charcoal piece in it, even when i put the dizzy in my friends car, but i cant remember. so i need 2 know if there is no charcoal piece will it not start?

ok so it starts but it dies unless im on the gas, pulled the plugs and the plugs are all black, but the residue can be wiped off. the plugs were new when i put them in, so im guessing its running rich? would that cause it to want ot die out?? timing ok. any ideas?

Check the wiring to the main relay and the main relay. I had a friend I helped out with this problem and it seems one of the wires that goes to the main realy was cut.

You sure? cause my friend was working on a car that had the same problem and that is where the problem was found. Like I said on my first post it was a cut wire that went to the main relay.

i think the problem may be too much fuel..? when i pull the plugs, they are black, but they are wet also. i also saw some mist coming out of the cylinders..what i thought to be unburnt fuel? i will check the main relay connections though.
