Heater controls (block off plate)

Heater controls (block off plate)
So I am no longer running a heater control in my car... I have a factory radio block off plate... Whats the best way to mount this? I would guess, find another radio housing, cut the bottom section off so its just the housing, then this will allow the block off plate to click into place? How does that sound, what have you guys done?
