Default Popping sound on front end on turns 90 Civ Dx Auto

I have a 90 Civic Dx automatic with about 145k. I have recently began to hear a pretty loud popping sound or thump when I make sharp turns or turnarounds.

I had one guy tell me it had something to do with my transaxle but i wanted a few other opinions.

Thanks,
Josh A.

yeah get new axles. its your cv joints. try to listen to which side it is coming from by turning the wheel to the left , then to the right. and slowly drive forward, the reverse. not all the the same time tho
