Default Clicking noise

I've got a clicking noise from under my hood, but it doesnt speed up with acceleration, but the volume changes at different throttle positions. I pulled my spark plugs and noticed oil on one of them and they seem pretty sooty.

replace the plugs, it's cheap and could solve your problem. If not you will eliminate the plugs being the faulty part.

I had a car runing on bad plugs and faulty ignition, that was some crazy ****. Fuel was going through my exhaust, but this wasn't a honda.

i actually just replaced them recently (with the NGKs recommended under the hood)...so then a couple of weeks later when this sound started, the first thing i did was pulled the plugs and checked the gap/condition

Seems like its time for a Valve cover gasket kit.
As for as the ticking you might need a valve adjustment or could be a exhaust leak.
