Ecotec isn't variable valve timing well the 2.2 and 2.0 motor isn't only the 2.4 is.

Ecotec is the generic name they gave the motor. And for future referance

2.0 SC Ecotec > Vtec

Not really I have owned 3 Honda's and loved them all. But for cheap speed my Ion Redline was a good choice....my dad retired from GM.

Right now i run 240hp to the wheels with my little 2.0 and M62 running 16lbs of boost.

The most HP out of our car's with the S/C right now is like 275-280 with about the same trq. Thats to the wheels with 60lb injectors and 2.5" S/C pully I run a 2.8" pulley.

Jesus, what is that, an 8.5:1 motor? I made 50hp more than that on less than 10psi during the street days.

I kid, I kid. I'm a kind-of GM sackswinger myself. My boyfriend and I did a V8 Rx-7 swap with an LS1, so he thinks Chevy and pizza are God's gift to man.

My car is completely stock

It is still slower, and who cares if it has a supercharger, you are paying the same amount of money for a slower car. CHEVY POWER

Ill take the .2 loss in the 1/4 for how much nicer the type s is over the ss. Ive driven both and I can honestly say I was not impressed with the cobalt.

There have been low 14 second passes 14.2 -14.3 @ 97-99mph with just a CAI and some stock all trapping @ 98mph and thats far from a 15 second car.

I suck at driving and I ran a 14.9@96 stock with a 2.46 60ft @ quaker city raceway in Ohio. Ive been to firebird in AZ with 05 type-S running and he was running 15.6 most of the night and i think he got to a 15.3 once.

The cobalt SS and Ion redline are not a 15sec car.

good points, yes stock for stock your ss will beat a type s in a drag race. clap-clap. But it fails in every other aspect as far as driving and owning the car goes. I would put any amount of money that a type s would leave the ss on a road coarse. Secondly, the feeling when you not going to redline is soo much better in the Acura. Lovely interior, sound engineering ,nothing feels cheap or like its about to break (every chevy vehicle on the road). Yes u did pay about the same price for a "faster" car, however it takes a supercharger for roughly the same power? Im sorry but thats cheap and shotty engineering. So lets run a s/c type s ( have a good friend who has one) vs. a s/c ss at the same boost and well see who gets walked and guess what, it will be you, assuming your car doesnt fall apart before it gets to the starting line.

haha please a rsx-s runs a 15.1 at its best ...just admit it stop dreaming. a cobalt runs anywhere from a 14.6 to 14.9 so all you'll be seeing is a bowtie, a half a second faster is a lot buddy. An rsx is just asian crap, thats all it is. You keep talking about my supercharger, but im still blowing you away? haha i love it, you are just jelous because you don't have one. You paid the same price for a maxed out 4-cylinder,...MmMm i love the sound of forced induction, plus the interior is WAY better in a cobalt ss, your insane for even saying that. Chevy has always been king of speed and always will be.

dude are u kidding me a 05-06 type s can acheive 14.7 stock
with a c.a.i
ive personally seen 14.5
put it this way my brother has a 05 cobalt ss s/c
ok and its nice and all but its a ratlle bucket after 30 thousand miles
both cars are 2.0's and both cars way the same its pretty sad that the cobalt has a supercharger and its bearly beating a type s
wich honestly comes down to the driver and a type s running 15.6
was the driver 10 years old?
the acura has a way higher resale and much better interior and doesnt have the rice wing on it like ur BIG SHOT (SUPER SPORT) the acura has better interior bett exterior better engineering and ill give u the .2 in the 1/4 but who cares that can be made up with a good driver.
here are the specs...\
Cobalt ss s/c
205 hp
200 IBS

acura rsx-s
201 hp
141 IBS

and it can tango with ur car please man look how discraceful the car is
what it needss it better engineering...
