Default LSD Transmission from HMO

I just have a question from everyone who ordered lsd from hmo, are u grinding gears or anything else that shouldnt be occurring from a 30k mile engine and tranny?

I'm just wondering because pretty recently I've been grinding 4th and 2nd, but maybe i just didnt have the clutch in all the way or something....and i know i need a new clutch and i forgot to put a new flywheel in when doing the swap =/

My LSD tranny was **** when I ordered my swap from there, popped out of third gear constantly and then in less than a year I lost 3rd completely, it would not go in at all, although it worked for awhile even though it ground. 4th was also almost toast too when I replaced the transmission and second would grind occasionally, fifth too. I didn't really beat on it either, it was that bad when I got it. The tranny that comes attached to a first gen B16a is also unrebuildable.

They are rebuildable but the parts aren't available here in the USA. Steve at HMO can definitely order the parts if you need them. Don't say they are "unrebuildable" when they most definitely are.

regardless of what company you bought your used parts from, you don't always know what type of abuse a used part goes through. and a less-mileage used part could have been abused worse than a high-mileage used part.

aside from that, HMO does have a reputation for having quite tha better used parts and is usually good about customer satisfaction.

ps: i'm wanting to pick up an LSD tranny from Steve, and i'm hoping that tha previous driver (whoever that may be) didn't do a bad number on it.

Actually you can get them...adleast I can. All you need to do is find a dealership that is willing to deal with honda Japan.

The gears can be obtained....just a PITA sometimes. We used to stock S-1 parts all the time. We don't now...It takes about 1-2 months lead time to get them. I just recieved some new parts booklets from Overseas...som hopefully by the summer I will have some more trans parts to help you guys out!

They are not unreliable when remanufactured...Had mine for four years(daily driven, drag, and road raced)...No problems...
