Non-Honda Speaker Question
My friend has a 1999 Audi A4 wagon, and he's getting an aftermarket deck installed (alpine cda-8957). the shops claims that since he has the bose 6 speaker system in his car, their unable to find a adapter harness for his car. so their telling him to purchase two new front speakers that are compatible with some harness they have. im asking if this is really true, cus this sounds really sketchy to me. So if you stereo guys can help me out that be cool
thanks
thanks
Yes. Chances are that the factory speakers are individually-amplified 1ohm speakers. Even if you bypass the amp on each speaker, they're still 1 ohm and they'll fry the deck...
The backs, however, usually work if you just hook up the positive lead for each speaker. Somehow they play without the negative.

Audis suck!!! My friend has a 2000 A4 and I am going the rewire the entire system. Then I have to make my own car kit because apparently no one makes one for that stupid car.
