i searched and did not find the answer i was looking for. a guy keeps telling me that the y80 tranny is a gsr tranny that comes with lsd from the factory. i dont believe him. he just keeps saying i better gets a y80 gsr trans and get rid of my s80 gsr trans. his car is a 95 gsr and mine is a 99 gsr. i don't know if he knows wtf he's talking about so i want to see if you guys can shed some light on the matter so i can print this thread and give it to him to shut him up.

your buddy is full of the wrong stuff....s80 and y80 means nothing...because LS's have the same code...you cant tell a transmission from the outside casing...its impossible...
