Alarm chirp on 99 CL
I just picked up a 99 3.0 CL. When I unlock or lock the doors via the alarm fob, it makes a loud chirp. Living where I do, the chirp is annoying/obnoxious. Does anyone know how to get rid of it? I have no owners manual
sounds like an aftermarket alarm to me since honda factory alarms / keyless entry usually just honk the horn. (except newer acuras that make a quiet electronic beeping sound) Most likely you will need to look under the drivers side dash to locate the alarm computer and tell us what kind you have or google it to see if there is a way to disable the confirmation beep sound.
It should be factory as its working off the acura keyless entry fob. I will check to see if it is indeed the horn or some other chirp.
Try this procedure. Press and hold the trunk release button on the remote, then press and hold the lock button, then release both. The LED on the remote will blink once to indicate the chirp is turned on, twice to indicate it's turned off.
