Crazy post I know, but what the hell... "dual stock mufflers"
Alright this is a bit nuts I know but I am just exploring some thoughts here. The idea is to run a 2.5"+ pipe from the cat back to two stock mufflers, splitting the 2.5 to a Y pipe but still into the two smaller stock mufflers.
Whether they will even fit, I do not know. If it isn't obvious enough, I am trying to be as quiet as possible, while retaining as much flow as possible.
How does this sound??? Feasable, absurd, give it a thought and let me know what you think...

There's no room for a second stock muffler. Besides, do you want to have dual exhaust on a 4 cylinder?
Just get a good resonator and a twin loop muffler. Use 2-2.25 inch piping. And stop being a baby. If you want a quiet, yet fast car, buy a luxury car with high displacement.

And shoot fireballs and turn into 3 grains of ultra fried rice... No but seriously. RSR is a good flowing quiet exhaust. It's expensive, but worth it
Haha, you crack me up. I was expecting at least one person to pipe up with some witty comments. I didn't even take into consideration what it would look like. Haha, ya two hornets stickin out the back, bwahahaha, ya right. Really, I am curious because I don't want to spend the money (I am sure others can relate) but I want the quietest sound possible. The RS*R Exmag is my dream muffler but becasue of my wallet, it will remain a dream. I have sen people tuck their exhaust, I am jsut wondering how possible all of this really is.

Ya, true that, the RS*R is definately a good setup. It will be soo nice to lose that damn loud *** growning exhaust I have now (came with the car when everything was stock).
I've looked before but look around and see if Rsr makes an axleback for the ex-mag. I'd love to have one of those....
Dual stock mufflers is not going to make you any quieter than just a single stock muffler.
And instead of wasting the money to make a Y pipe and custom fab two stock mufflers onto your car, save the money, and buy a RSR or WS2 a little later. Don't be so impatient.

Ahh yess, you are correct. Patience is definately not my strong point. It is killing me enough just deciding which order to address my next major purchases 1. Rims and alrm setup 2. Turbo (uuugghhhhh damn I wna tit now) 3. different exhaust setup. No doubt, the RS* R has made me succomb to it's quiet beuty lol.
buy an ITR axel back and fab up some 2.25" piping with a resonator. problem solved. i have this setup with no res. and a b series cat. it's quiet as hell. if you want 2.5" , do the same , just use a RSX-S muffler
You know, I have heard that before but I have no idea where I can come across an ITR axleback. I figure I could chill on H-T to see if there are any, but who knows. Good idea though, thanks.
If you go turbo you're going to need a turbo back exhaust anyway. An N/A exhaust wont work with it.
OK well that is good to know. I contacted RS*R a few months ago about their setups being compatible with the turbo and they said that it wouldn't be a problem for me. I hope that is the case, I do not know too much about exhaust technicalities but I am learning.
Speaking of which, I thought the resonator is what made the car sound loud overall. I presume that the resonator instead somehow tries to nullify the sound.

what, why not? you just have the down pipe meet the exhaust

Well, then you'd have to re-weld and stuff. It's just easier with an exhaust made for a turbo car.
Ever seen a non-turbo back exhaust for a WRX?

lol
just because they call it a turbo exhaust doesnt mean its made just for a turbo car. its the size that matters. you can use stock exhaust and some people do but its robbing them of power and earlier spooling time. anything over 2.25 is good for turbo honda. personally i went with full 3" exhaust from kteller and a 3" downpipe. the reason company's use turbo in the name is for marketing. the cooler it sounds the more people want to buy it.
