Need help with cams
I am doing a GSR turbo build, and my mechanic lost my cams! Now he found some skunk 2 turbo cams, 305050155 is the part number. So i am wondering how these work, and i cant afford new springs and retainers, but i dont plan to rev to high.
Get a set of ITR/CTR cams if you can, or just go with stock GSR cams. They work much better than turbo specific cams. Search around for dyno sheets, many people are making high horsepower with stock B-series cams.

dont you mean turbo cams are short duration high lift?
long duration cams increase overlap (which is what youre trying to get away from in a turbo charged engine)...high lift is what can net the more horses without necessary shifting the powerband...

i would personally go with the CTR cams. they cost much cheaper than turbo cams and i believe there is dyno plots showing that they also make more power then the turbo cams. stick with b series cams

Turbo cams aren't better in this situation.

correct. picking a cam is like picking a turbo. you gotta have the right one for your setup and obviously don't over do it.
if your mechanic lost your gsr cams, then take his Skunk2 turbo cams and put them up for sale. gsr cams are dirt cheap. but personally i would recommend you get some ITR cams and some aftermarket adjustable cam gears.
itr cams > gsr cams > b16 cams
