Map Sensor
A couple questions about the map sensor on Honda.
I had a code 5 in my b16a swap 1990 Si,
Looked up codes and got it down to a code 5: MOST LIKEY a vaccum leak in map sensor
So i replaced the vaccuum line, twice now actually within 3 days, jsut in case.
Well that didnt work, replaced the sensor with one from a 93 4 dr DX, worked GREAT.
next time I tried that SAME sensor it didnt work.
Looked up troubleshooting methods.
Checked wires on sensor, all good (4.94v across board)
checked ECU plugs and pins
all good.
The only other thing it could be is the ECU (I hope not..brand enw HMO....)
or
A faulty ground, this might explain why the 93 4dr MAP worked fine, then it wouldnt work.
So the MAP is grounded to the ECU, ground is OK!
The ECU ground is supposedly the thermostat housing ground, honda manual said so (I work at a dealership) so could someone SHOW me that ground, like a picture. I think its the ground right above the lower radiator hose connects to the block, because I sanded that ground off just in case, and the chk eng light went off, but it never hit VTEC for some reason. Anyone know anyhting about that
so, SHOW ME THE THERMOSTAT GROUND FOR ECU
could a map sensor be bad and not throw a code, resulting in a NO CEL car btu no VTEC?? I have been working on this oneproblem for about 2 weeks now....not even my master tech is sure
any help or info and mostly PICS would be much appreciated.
THANKS
