Default Powder coating ITR champ WHite wheels? Advice?

I just got some 15inch champ white ITR wheels and I got them powdercoated. I didnt sandblast them because the powdercoating shop said that it didnt need it. So I got my rims back and it was all messed up. Paint drips showing and its ugly. I wetsanded it down and it came out better than b4.

To get the best results, Should I sandblast them and then paint it again? Advice or suggestions anyone?

Were your wheels coated with something to start with? Such as paint, powder or anodizing??? If so that would have to come off, and as for the run, sounds like they either sprayed the wheel while it was "hot" and put on way too much. White powder is a fine spray and it covers less than a darker color, so you have to apply it a little thicker for it to flow and cover everything evenly, by thicker I am talking maybe a .5 mil more in thickness.

As for what you do is up to you, here is what I would do, since we run our own coating shop. I would take them back to the place you did them and have them redo the bad wheels. You paid for it to be coated the right way, not the wrong way. If they don't do anything about it, find another place to have them done.

If either way does not work for you, you can try wet sanding, if you haven't already, and try some buffing compund like you would use for a car and see if you can get the shine back.

Good Luck!
