Default I dont recommend Hmotorsoline.com

Over this past winter I order a B18C with LSD transmission from Hmotorsonline. They sent me a transmission that should have never been sent my way. The clutch was fried and the throw out bearing was installed incorrectly. Unfortunately I wasnt able to get to it until I got out of school. Their online disclaimer is crap, they refuse to compensate me for the repairs, which included a new clutch, resurfacing the flywheel and not to mention hours wasted checking everything that I did during the install of the motor swap(not to mention the hours wasted trying to trouble shoot this problem). Tyring to give a heads up to anyone who is looking to do a motor swap. I definately do not recommend Hmotorsonline.com to anyone unless they are looking for a good way to **** away their money. to Hmotorsonline.com

are you sure you talked to steve? because all the dealings that ive seen and been involved with from steve have all been satisfactory. i also dont believe steve covers the clutches. what do you expect its a used engine and the guy does the best he can to get the better of the engines that are left out there. they stopped making the b-series engines in 01 just so you know. just dont bag the company ove something a little as a clutch.

well first off a clutch is not a small problem when you spend $5,000 on a motor swap which should avg around 30K. I have to spend an aditional $500 for a clutch that shoudlnt need to be replaced. Im not bagging anyone.... Im just giving a heads up to those who are looking forward to purchasing a motorswap in the future.

Between me and 4 friends we have bought 5 motors and so far absolutely NO problems.
As far as the clutch goes like some people said he has no idea what outcome of those will be. So i still say

i go there in person all the time. ive bought about 6 engines from them... the only problem ive ever had with any of the engines was the timing belt becoming loose on one of the b20s i got ... but your supposed to replace it anyways...

you cant expect a good clutch on a used engine........
thats kinda rediculous... you either luck our or you dont... they only back up their engines and trannies... all other waste away parts your supposed to replace...

i know you give warning with good intentions looking out for your fellow ht members... so thanks for that.
My experience with them has always been good though. infact they are the only engine importer i trust.

I've gotten at least 3 motors from Steve at Hmotors in the last year, and when I get a motor/tranny, I do EVERYTHING brand new to it, belts, t-belt, waterpump, valve cover gasket, if it should be replaced regularly i do it. The tranny ALWAYS gets a brand new clutch, and throwout bearing. Not replacing that stuff is just...not smart anyways. It's just upkeep, so if you whine about a clutch, thats the LEAST of your problems when you just spent all that money on a motor from hmotors. And all the motors i've ever gotten from him were gorgous and ran beautifully. Never had a single problem.

true that i wouldn't used their clutch anyways
if ur planning on doing a motor swap why not get a brand new clutch
my friend just ordered a b18c5 and its running like a champ he changed the clutch and got BRAND NEW axles. things like that should always be new.

I order my JDM B16 XSi Swap from HMO in April, the motor was MINT. The only thing I didn't like was the shipping process and i couldnt get a $50 refund because I didnt get to use the liftgate

other than that, my engine is MINT, and still is. It doesnt burn a DROP of oil, runs and pulls super strong.

And ya, I spent $1000 in extra parts just refreshing up everything like the warranty says. New clutch, flywheel, timing belt, water pump, tensioner, IM gasket, valve cover seals, etc....

so ya.. dont complain over a clutch. Is your engine running strong or what? If you got an engine problem, then sure, but a clutch is nothing.

And just because they say averages 35,000 miles, doesnt mean its around there.. I know for a fact my engine had over 62,000 miles because there was a Japanese service sticker on the timing belt cover that says the last t/b change was at 99,xxxx.

You should not have to deal with rushed service. If they are that busy they should have more staff to handle the workload.
