89 CRX HF seats
Okay, I am a little scared to post on this because maybe I have searched the wrong things. (CRX seats, 89 seats, 89 seat swap, crx seat swap, etc.) Here is what I need. I need to get new seats for my 89 HF. I do not have the skills to swap pans, swap rails, etc. Can someone just tell me what seats will work in my car without having to change so many things? I know that seems simple of me, but I just don't know how to do all that. I have the Chilton manual and the manual from the Honda repair shops, so I can read the diagrams on how to take it apart and put it back together again.
Please don't yell at me. I did search. I see all these seats, but also all this talk of swaping pans and rails and such. Is there just a seat (other than 89 HF, Can't find any) that will just move on over into my car?
Thanks, Lori
Coming along nicely on the car so far. I did a tune up and will change to oil this weekend. I degreased all the interior vinyl and such. There were parts that I thought were black that actually turned out to be BLUE under all the CRAP! I know this is simple to y'all, but a big accomplishment for a mom of four teens who has never worked on a car before!
This weekend:
Change oil to synthetic high mileage
Hopefully polish the rims (wire wheel on a dremel will work??)
Sand and repaint the bumpers to black
Search for driver's side fender and door trim in the area junk yards. (they don't want to sell me just the trim.....whole door only $160....too much money)
I should put on pics of my sad little CRX so that we can watch the progress of a TOTAL noobie
I appreciate your patience and help!

That is sad. I don't know that I will be able to find 88-89 seats that aren't as broken down as mine are already. Maybe time to learn how to swap rails and pans, etc.....
I guess I will start researching this ASAP. Just looking for the easier way out, but I don't mind learning new things and getting my hands dirty.
Thanks!

it's really a shame we can't put our passenger seats where the drivers seat is, my passenger seat is great.
Is it possible to switch the foam pieces from one side to the other?

Yes. A number of people have done foam and cover swaps between their driver and passenger seats.

I swapped in some 97 Del Sol seats
They are soooo nice and they hug me better than the Si seats cuz I'm not a fat ***
Not too hard to swap in, all you have to use ia a drill and some bolts for the outside Del sol rails. You use the CRX insider rails and switch passenger with drivers seat. They are 2" wider than CRX seats.

I found stuff in my search on swapping foam. I think there were a few threads that talked about how to do that. Just do a search on seat faom swap (i think that's what i did). Unfortunately, my passenger seat sux too....
