2?'s low hum/howl and how to clean apple off my hood
on the street I hear a hum or howl when my car is moving.. i got an alignment about 700 miles ago.. so i dont think its the alignment... this is on Dunlop SP900's... i didnt notice it before.. but i usually drive w/ the radio on too... or is it my axles or sumthing.. i tried lookin under to see if a CV boot was torn but it wasnt (from what i can see) i'll have to jack up my car this weekend to look more thoroughly..
also a bus was tryin to merge into my lane and I didnt let him in (in Glendale... on Central Ave)... so he spit or threw sum apple on my car.. it looks chewed or maybe it came out of a pie I dont know... anyway its really nasty and I tried wiping it off once I parked and got to my destination however sum of it looks hardened/caked on.. how do i get this off.. I tried pouring bottled water and wiping it w/ a towel.. but it seems hardened..wtf? I'm going to wash my car this weekend.. any tips on how to get this crap off my hood?

try getting to it as soon as possible. apples/fruits have a lot of acids in them and can possibly end up staining/eating the paint. wash it tonight or at least by tomorrow.
bug and tar might work. clay bar might work, too. I'd stay away from the rubbing compound until a last resort. Mothers makes a pre wax cleaner as part of their 3 step wax process. I've found this to work very well in getting out stains from paint. no matter which you decide to do, put a coat of wax over the area after you are done. all of the things mentioned will take whatever wax you have on there, off.
as far as the hum. did you have this when the tires were already on the car or is it something that started when you put them on? low pitched noises are ususlly tire related or wheel bearings. how many miles on the car?

wet a sponge with warm water and mild soap. sit the dripping sponge on the apple stuff and let it sit there for 10-15 mins to soak in... once it soaks in it should come off much easier. Once you get off the junk, use some clay bar to get rid of any residue.
