Default ?Having the Front Bumper Re-Painted and Shaved ?

So My Cuz has a friend who owns a body shop and i'm going to have them repaint my front bumper and in the process have them also shave the license plate holes to make it look flush. Anyway Do i need to buy a new Acura emblem or can you take it off without breaking the tabs on the inside?

Thanks.

You should be able to get it off without breaking the tabs.

why not shave off the acura badge while you're at it? it looks a lot cleaner without it

Please don't listen to this guy. I hate the whole "mah ride is MAd CleAn Yo" concept. The emblems belong on the car. I've yet to see a car w/ a shaved emblem that looks "cleaner" than it did w/ the factory badge on it, it simply looks as if it's missing something

Thought about it. My post wasn't relevant to the thread.

Yes you can re-use the emblem.

if you guys out there don't have problems w/ no front plate out there, it would probably be ok. but i'm sure there's a cop around who might enforce it. i'd keep them like jun.r says and get the plugs.

I had mine shaved off front and back due to dumbfawks stealing the RED A and scratching my paint during there process. So i just shaved them off the last time. I miss the badges though.

it won't go anywhere unless someone steals it.

Id have to disagree. If you mean "cleaner" as in OEM, then yes it looks "cleaner" with it on.

However, the front badge (back fits the car) sticks out like a sore thumb. Especially with the red background even if its "Type Red".

EDIT: Your gonna tell me that the ctr front grill replacement doesnt look cleaner then that fat H?

on jdm front, shave the holes and that nasty rectangular panel that sticks out as well... that'd be uber clean.

The original owner of my car shaved the emblem and the lisence holes on the front bumper. when I got my car, that pissed me off.... sure it looked clean, but after a couple years, the body filler cracked on one of the lisence holes.... I wish it was never messed with. Not to mention that when I decided to put the Acura badge back on, I had to drill through my bumper and crack the paint around the prong holes. I would strongly recommend not messing with it. Just my $.02

Nice!

for PA and other states which don't require front plates.
for NY and other states which do require front plates.

If a multi-billion dollar corporation such as Honda motors decided it looked better I don't think some cheap *** wings west style insert is going to make it look any better. Missing logos are just that.............missing..........as in, who stole that guy's emblem? It doesn't look any better and most ppl that start to shave everything off their cars are simply bored in my opinion. Example, a stock ITR from the factory looks about 300 times better than one that had been taken to a body shop and shaved of all its character. We're obviously not going to agree on this concept so we'll do as Ron Burgundy does.."Agree to disagree"

Marketing. Advertising their name on their product is common sense.

"Missing" is the key word. If you say "Look he has a missing emblem", then you (not you Goose) sound like the general public who wonders why we do anything to our cars.

All R owners would agree on this, but what if you drove a GSR/LS/RS etc?

Its a matter of expression.

Agree to Disagree? Yes

Happened to me too. Stole my stock "A" front emblem. Not to mention scratched my paint underneath.
