Default bumper not paintable??

i brought my bumper to a paint shop and they said they wont paint it cuz its a type of bumper where the paint won't stick to it. the bumper was painted before but the paint came off really easily, like u can peel it off. anyone know what this guy at the shop is talking about? bumper is not oem btw

It is paintable but they will need to use a felxible primer or something like that. If they can't paint a honda civic bumper what can they paint?

trying asking them to use something called "etching" primer i believe. the primer fills in all the "unpaintable" areas. etching primer is also sandable in order to allow paint to stick.

i'm not expert, but no harm in askin

i bought a non oem front bumper when i painted my old hatch, the body shop said they used something special for the paint to stick and after that i had no problems with paint peeling off, it looked brand new. You should try a different shop

for stuff like that you want to use adhesion promoter. I saw a video on the duplicolor website that said for plastics that dont hold primers you wanna use an adhesion promoter which is basically a clear primer. Just tell a bodyshop to use that...
