Default My k20a swaped ITR build (Finally)

Well, It's been like 4 or more months of my ITR just sitting in the sun while I collect all the swap parts for the k20 Im about to throw in...

So far Ive got

- Rkrew Headers
- Karcepts shifter Relocator
- Avid Mounts
- Suja 1 Clutch Line
- BDL fuel Rail
- Aeromotive Fuel Rail
- Hybrid Racing Conversion Harness
- Hybrid Racing Fuel Lines

- 2000 JDM ITR front end conversion
- 16- Sw388s

Things i need/want

- oil pan
-Shifter Box
-Axles
-Hondata Kpro

when the car is once again alive

-Spoon N1 Exhaust (actualy contemplating on that exhaust.. planning on having
3 inch piping.. and the spoon exhaust is loud as @#$ on basic piping
on DC2s.. any suggestions/advice?
)
- some kind of roll cage, support bars/beams (still doin research on that)
- ohter trendy/diff stuff...

hah.. basically basing my build off of Guilotines.. but with a kswap

pix in the next post XD

this is the reason why I'm taking soo long

another money pit... "gota cruise to work in style"

usdm front sold to 94todteg on HT.. made a mistake and sold him my mugen wing

The Beast!! in jdm transformation!!

the motor in with just the mounts

**regarding the swap.. I must say. after doing a couple B series swaps.. The K is
BY FAR a lot easier to drop in... you will not beleive it till to you do it your self..
this engine is so much more compact.. and the rear mout is sooo much simpler...

the avid mounts... Im not too happy with them.. the fact that they require you to
drill out the two 14 bolts that are already welded to the fram of the car (the pass
side lower tq mount).. and the rear mount is kind of difficult to line up for me..
other than that.. the price was cool...

some hybrid racing goodies

well.. i need the axles and shifter box..
lookin hard for a junkyard deal on those.. probably gona end up spendin like 200 bux on both peices...

hondata... goes for around 1100 w/ecu.. 850 with your ecu shipd..

misc parts.. gona have like 300 for that area (rad hoses and so forth)

so.... give or take 1700 dollers more? and tunning.. dont know.. I have like two freinds that work at a dyno..

but realy would like to get my car mase'd for once

according to k20a.org.. swaps usualy go for like 6k...

if you know the right people.. got the right hook ups.. around 5400..

For the uneducated, what are the benefits of having spent almost $5k on a k20 when you can spend a fraction of that and build a beast out of your B18c5? Just asking out of curiosity, not trying to be an asshat.

go to k20a.org.. and see ..

from my research.. for a b18c5 to get anywhere near 200.. u have to at least redo the head and some aggressive cams.. nice I/H/E and tune

to go above 210 .. re do the whole engine...

k20a2.. 216 whp... out of the box w. rkrew headers, intake, exhaust and hondata...

k20a... not sure.. but i know its near or more than 220

that.. plus its priceless to see peoples face when they first lay there eyes on a kswap.. and ask why is the motor backwards

This goes to B-money....

Have u ever seen 200 wheel torque on a B-series???? Not all motor I can guarandamntee that!!!

K24 mild builds are seeing 240whp 200wtq.....if that alone doesn't tell you why people are doing it.....well then maybe speed is just not for some people.

Really? I don't think i've ever seen those kind of numbers on here before. If it's true then that must be one heck of a bear to keep traction in on an autox. I can't imagine all that touque in my little sub 2000lb car

That's a very good question, and the one that lead me to a K20A for my H1 car. The answer is dependability. The fact is, Honda knows a lot more than I or anyone else around here knows about building a motor. The more stock I can leave something and be competitive, the better off I'll be.

Just my opinion, but I think it's a reasonable one at that.

There's no way you're going to come close to K power from building a B without sacrificing reliability.

With all of that said, I still LOVE the way my H2 car sounded. It screamed. The K just groans

this is all smog legal right? Or are these just track cars, and what are the limitations for for registering and or operating non-street legal cars?

Not in cali because there are a few parts you need that aren't carb legal. Like the fuel rail and adjustable fpr, I believe there is more that I can't think of right now. But there is a guy on h-t that can get the car bar'd in cali for a price.

are you serious? first off when were Integras under 2000lbs?
second of all, who wouldn't benefit in Auto-X from a more linear power band with more low in torque? think about it, you would not need to rev the **** out of it to make it do what you want.

99.9% of the cars in the ITR forum have mods that are not street legal so who cares.

Looks like prices for the parts needed for the Kswap have came down a bit over the year. Last year when I wanted a K20 for any EG, DC chassis it would have been about $8000 including tunning, header etc etc EVERYTHING said and done.

Thats why I bought an RSX-S instead. But with prices on the motor itself comming down ........this looks like to be the Bseries KILLER of choice

you can probably use stock axles
i have the hasport mount for ekk2 civic..which uses the same axles as the dc2 hasport axles

now if the avid mounts use the same mounts as the hasport axles for your car..this should work

but what i did was bought 02-05 civic si axles(60$ total)..switched the inner (took the inners from the drivers, and put it on the passenger side, took the inners from the passenger side and put it onto the driver side)

been driving for a good 6 month now no problem..hope that helped..just another option to think about

I certainly understand where the type r purists are coming from. However, I can tell a big difference between the driving experience of a integra type r with a C5 motor and my Civic with a tsx motor and type r tranny. The major characteristic that makes the difference for me is that you don't need to wait for VTEC to engage. The 2.4L tq will get you there... the VTEC is just icing on the already good tasting cake. And that is on OEM motors with stock k20a2 heads and k24a/k20 blocks.

Best of luck with your car!
