Default could i go on one tank?

next weekend im going out to arizona to kick it with a few friends before i start college, and i thought i could use the drive check my max gas mileage. the trips 345.45 mile and it a safe estimate of 30 mpgs, it equals out to 11.515 gallons. heres the killer, my tanks 11.9. i think 30 mpgs on a civic should be no problem, and in reality im going to get more. the trip consist of a 290 mile highway run and 3-7 mile state highway runs and what not. should i run all the way on a full tank and get a great idea of my gasmilage or does it seam like to much.

whats the point.... if you wanna try just do 3000rpm the whole time. try not to accel or decell too much. make shure you got good tire pressure and do a minor tune up before you go.

if you stay.. say about 80, chances are, you'd probably need to feel up a little before you get there.
I've had this problem with my automatic Civic that stays constant at 80 at 3,200-3,400 RPM (which is really low considering you manuals are like above that.)
mods: CAI, DC Sports Header, ect... Y7
I travel from Los Angeles to Las Vegas and tried to make it there in one trip, almost, but no cigar.
our tanks aren't big enough to do it

Cruise control + summer air temps should help out a bunch. Works for me anyways.

well, also the calculation of the actual gas in the tank could vary by what incline ur car is at the gas station. whenever i test my gas mileage over a few tanks, i always go to the same gas station at the same pump at exactly the same spot.

also what tpyes of gas are better? one my my friends swears that BP is better than gas from QuickTrip. also i took a trip with the parents a long time ago and they said they got so much better gas mileage out of Shell gas....anyone agree?

to the OP, i personally wouldnt want to risk running out of gas trying to make the trip, so i would just fill up at a pit stop, unless you plan on driving non stop the entire way.

from what i've learned and experienced, i SERIOUSLY doubt gas from different stations being different enough to make a noticable difference. there are regulations for the bare minimum gasoline has to pass to be able to sell and use. the only difference is the slight additives that each gas company/station adds to their gas. and those additives are much to even notice anyway.

Id say to go ahead and try it. If your worried of running out of gas along the way, just toss in a 2 galloon container of gas in your car to use as a backup.

Highway gas milage on that car should be more like 35 if you use cruise control.

I think that you should be good. but having a gas can to back you up if nothing else. Let us know what it turns out to be.

i get 400ish on one tank with my d16. going at 80mph and rpm is at 3900-4000. all stock. my tank is only 10gal cuz its a cx. but when i pump i only pump about 8.5 gal or so. so i really still have 1.5 gal left. i drove until the needle hits the "E".

don't forget to fill up when it's cold outside, to maximize the volume of gas in your tank.

the reason im going there is basicly to work on hondas (they have a b16 crx and a h22 civic coupe for what ive herd) not enjoy the heat, hell its about 100 here every day right now, so it doesnt bother me. also getting tint done before i go so i can put my new "i heart my honda" stickers on .

im going to try it, but not going to push it. sence my only mods right now are intake and headers, plus the fact i basicly just did a full tune up, i should get some good gas mileage.
