The VTEC models are the ones that came with the B16... not easy to find at all.

They say out of every 100 Del Sols built, one of them was a VTEC (B16) car. They are definitely hard to find compared to a regular Sol, especially when you are looking for one.

Makes me wish I never sold mine. Had a 95 VTEC with 89k miles on it. Sold it to a guy for $8000 two years ago. Heard that he was ricing it out about a week after he bought it.... Probably has a Boeing 747 wing mounted on the back of it now.

Be careful if you do find what seems like a good deal. Test-drive it well; I didn't drive mine enough before I bought it. Brought it home, found out I was losing my license the next day, car sat for 6 months, when I finally got it on the road I discovered a plethora of transmission problems, bad clutch/hydraulic system etc.

Get a 95, the 94's are fun and all but the lack of trunk release/updated roof seals is irritating.

i have a 93 and love the no srs on the passenger side and the glove box is not bulky. the only thing that sucks is the no trunk release, but you can always get everything from a 95 up.

Hmm, according to Honda, Del Sol VTECs were never made in 93.

yeah, just be patient. i got lucky myself by being patient. scored a '94 Granada Black VTEC for 3G's. did a *didn't trust what seller stated* major tune-up myself and shes now running strong. try searching craigslist cause that's where i found mines.

they might be easier to find in other states... I have 2

weight difference isn't significant between those 2 years... that should be the last thing on your mind unless you're making some sort of track car where weight reduction is a plus... 94 doesn't have the trunk release and no low fuel indicator on the gauge and no abs (most of the time). I've got both 1994 VTAK n' 1995 VTECH n' I still prefer my 95...

make sure that it has a B16A3

swap is crap. The VTEC version had bigger brakes, suspension, different steering rack (quicker ratios), bigger sway bars, power everything (but doors on my 94) etc. I got mine for 2k and its got 238k, no burning anything. Car runs good. I think any honda that came directly from Japan last longer. I love my sol and wouldn't sell it for anything.

Even parts are hard to find for the VTEC OBD1 Del Sols. I have an EG, that has a B16A1 block, currently has a PR3 head, but I been looking like crazy to get a hold of a P30 OBD1 '95 head, but have not had any luck...P30 ECU's are hard to find as well...If anyone has a '95 P30 head or a virgin P30 ECU, hit me up! I need to B.A.R. my '95 EG soon...

I had a 96 Vtec coupe. I loved it!!!! Till I had to sell it to go back to school full time . I sold it for 5 gs. That was about 1 and a half years ago. When i bought it, i had to drive about 40 miles to purchase it and it took me about 4 months to find one that was even worth buying.

My advice, just be patient, you will find a nice one soon enough.
