An FAL Lexan rear window measures 0.180 inches thick and weighs 15 lbs.
A DC2 stock rear glass is 0.136 inches thick.
Lexan is up to 50% lighter than glass - lets call it 50%.
So the FAL window weighs approx 66% - so call the stock glass 23 lbs, making the difference 8 lbs.
Then, taking the struts off the stock hatch/glass and holding it horizontal with a scale under the back gives around 25-27 lbs. If we pretend the cg is centered we can say the assembly weighs 50-55 lbs.
So the stock window is about 23 lbs, and the bare hatch maybe 30-ish.
It'd still be nice to know what a carbon hatch weighs. Maybe somebody with one could do like I did and hold it up with a bathroom scale and give us that number. It'd be really easy.
Scott, who may know where one will be in about a week and a half...maybe I'll take my scale...
