I hate topics like this for so many reasons. Not going to say much, but I will say this.
A turbo car can be just as reliable as an N/A car as a DD. To say they are unreliable is a misconception. I turboed my 00 coupe back in 02...that car is now on its 4th owner and over 120k miles later, same turbo (15G/blue box)) 0 problems. I turboed a freshly swapped JDM B18C over 2 years ago (drag kit/Hondata) 0 problems. A turboed car with a controlled driver on moderate boost is fine as a DD. A 600whp turboed car probably isn't...just like a 250whp high comp N/A car isn't. Don't take the extreme setups into concideration with the mild setups. If your just wanting 250 whp, hell turbo it and call it a day. It would be alot easier and cheaper than 200 N/A whp.
Don't get me wrong I'm all for N/A setup, but don't think for a minute a N/A motor won't fail just as easily as a F/I motor. One word...tune

Dadgum, that's more than I intended on saying

i only suggested that dvd because it shows you what actually works, so you dont waste time and money on bling parts that aren't needed or are useless. all motor with nitrous to run at the track would be pretty good too, as long as you dont get all NOS happy and blow your motor by not doing it right. dont be like some dumb kid i saw the other day who wanted to race me with his red 00 si who thought he was as fast as sh*t. it had a couple bolt-ons, but he was burning a lot of oil, bad rings (i mean a lot of blue smoke was coming out of his tail pipe). i know i could have taken him but i dont "street race". the omniman dvd can be found by going in the all motor forum in this site. there are also books availible at borders or barnes and noble that help you engine building, etc. they are called how to build honda horsepower i think. and honda/acura performance handbook.

Honestly, these threads are pointless. They are simply fights between the all motor guys, and the turbo guys.

You gotta list the pros and cons:

All motor:
Pro - Reliable, always in some sort of powerband, amazing noise, sleeper in a sense (no intercooler = no one knows)
Con - EXPENSIVE!!! Holy god the cost to go really fast all motor is out there! HP and TQ numbers never as good as turbo setup. Must be of decent displacement to see some real numbers. You need to have a good plateform to start with.

Turbo:
Pro - Cheaper to get the same hp and tq as all motor. Acts as a stock engine until you hit boost, then you hold on.
Con - A little unreliable when built poorly, requires alot of maintenance. You can't let anything go even a little or things go wrong. You need to worry about how much boost you make with what kind of setup you got, and realise that it's a honda engine, you can only boost it so much before a serious build needs to happen.

I dunno, it's a starter. Go to ALL MOTOR forum and read up, then visit FORCED INDUCTION and read some more.

I have one car going boost, other going all motor. No fighting that way.

first ask yourself what your hp goals are then ask which one is better all motor or turbo. then add up the total cost on **** that will get you there going all motor or turbo.turbo is cheaper by far but n/a is for men and turbo is for women. lol j/k guys all motor is so much better i think less hassel unlike turbo you have to deal with maintainence and oil lines and all this other **** but built right there both reliable. and depending on your goals turbo is faster than all motor. but everything has its pro's and con's. find yourself a homie with a turbo car test that out then make the judgement. personally im going the supercharger route.

The only real way to know:

Test drive an all-motor b16 that was assembled with pride.
Test drive a turbo b16 that was assembled with pride.

Then you can make up your mind. *cough*boooost*cough*.
