will the axles that come with the swap from HMO fit directly into a 89 crx dx and Im getting the b16a 1st gen with the j1 tranny

i have always been told that it won't work with the intermidiate shaft that comes with a Y1 tranny. I have a Y1 and used the axels and i have never had a problem.

 

what about if I get the j1 transmisson

 

does any one know

 

I THINK you are fine then. it seems like that intermediate shaft it the same size as a DA.

if they are the axles that came from that transmission and mid shaft then yes they will work

 

now everyone just look at this site this is what I am getting now im getting it with the j1 tranny so will the axels fit into a crx dx 89

mine i had to replace... also you need hubs ...

 

I thought u only need hubs if you have an hf or std? am I correct?

Dx and si hubs are the same.

 

so I dont have to change them right?

 

That i don't know.

 

Only HF hubs differ. Maybe Automatics too.

No you are fine. Only if you have an STD, you have to change your knuckles out.

Yes everything will work fine..only thing you have to do is remove the dust ring from inside the knuckle/hub....

The only hubs that need changing are CRX HF and CIVIC STD
