Default Hood Dampers installed on 90 Civic

I was looking for hood dampers but couldnt find any from Tein for a EF Civic. After looking around the net I found a company called Redline Tuning makes some for our cars! I bought the Elite set cause they look a bit nicer and I usually show my Civic. I wanted to post up some pics for you guys if anyone was looking for these. Here is there link to the EF dampers also...

Nice, Eric! Will have to get some.

You can stop modding your car now - you're making us look bad.

Don't you need a rivet gun to install those?

That is one cramped engine bay. Power steering battery and all. looks real functional though I like it. Do you have any idea how much those hood dampers weigh? The look like a worthy weight gain, stupid prop rods suck. I removed my rear hatch struts to save weight but these might actually be worth the weight they add.

If you care so much about weight, go check out jenny craig .

It looks nice, clean. Riveted tho? What if the hood needs to come off/up higher for le's say...engine replacement (cherry picker)? What do you do?

I'd rock some, if it wasn't 70$ for them. I can make my own.

Follow the link and look at the instructions - looks like they would just pop out of balljoints on either end, if you needed to remove or open up the hood more. Though you'd have to be non-He-man about it so that you don't pop out the rivets.

Eric, I'll take you up on that bet!

I would be afraid of bending the very flimsy EF hood

No need I have a mountain bike. I plan to loose 20lbs or so by the time my car is back together. 155 is a good weight for me. I try to never buy anything untill after I investigate the weight. Unless it is a recesity or the only item available for the application. If you don't you could easily add weight to your car that is unnecesary. I removed my heat, and wipers for a reason, no need to put excess weight back in. Next goes my sunroof, and 89 doors. Yes I do care about weight. I also refuse to date any girl over 5'6" 105lbs.

The rivits would probally break before the hood would bend.

They weigh next to nothing, and are pretty strong suckers. I would NOT use them on a aftermarket hood like a CF or FG hood, the hood would swing open and knock you silly

When I close the hood it doesnt bend the hood at all, but I know what you mean the metal is kinda cheap on Ef's "All Hondas really". You can take them off really easy buy just taking a pin out takes 2 mins. Only thing is clearence, I had to play around with them a bit to have the hood close all the way
