Default Upgrading the standard stereo

So since it seems impossible to find a Si with nav without being gouged or having to wait months, I am thinking of upgrading the standard audio package with a Pioneer AVIC-Z1 nav and stereo unit. Would that fit and is it possible to take out the existing electronics? A standard DIN fit should be 4 inches from top to bottom is that what it is in the Si?

Any input on this would be greatly appreciated

I bought a AVIC-D1 (best buy had it on sale for $800) and I'm putting in my EX. I got the dash kit from metra on ebay for 70 bucks, and there is a modulator that makes the buttons on the steering wheel work with the unit for $50 on ebay. Also putting a dvd player and tv-tuner under one of the seats for 60 bucks from etronics.com.

Getting it all installed this Sunday. Looking foward to putting up some pics. This is my first honda, and this stuff is kinda fun :-)

I want to see those pictures. and let me know how that modulator works with the steering buttons. I went to best buy and bought an in-dash tv/dvd combo (touch screen) but the tech said he cant get my buttons on the steering wheel to work with the new radio. I haven't went to have it installed yet so it would be awsome if I could take that part with me and make him look like an idiot. Also is the dash kit suppose to be the same color as the stock dash.

Mine is made for Sony and Pioneer head units, but i'm sure they make more. Its from Pac Audio. Its looks rather simple to install too.

The dash is the exact same color and feel of my factory dash. Thats what worried me until I actually got it in and compared the two.

The DVD Player / TV Tuner isn't going to be here in time for installation, but I'm having them pre-wire everything so I can just plug it in when it comes in (thank God for installation instructions on the internet.)

The reason I didn't get the DVD in the Unit is that I wanted the navigation more than the DVD.
