ACURA VIGOR?!?!

I was wondering if anyone on h-t has one, if so what mods are available to it. I ask because I am considering a 5 cyl 5 speed model that some dude is selling for cheap. All info is very appreciated

I have a vigor (or 2) myself. And yes, everyone is right, the aftermarket support for the vigor is about as big as the aftermarket support for a honda s800
.
With that being said, if you are a fan of doing custom work or trying to figure stuff out on your own, then the vigor is a good car for you. If you want to just be able to go somewhere and say, "i have a vigor. give me 'x' part." then this isn't really the car you should look at.
if you're looking to do a cold air intake setup on it, i did a How-To on a custom 3" Cold Air Intake

the vigor also shares the same suspension as the 90-97 Accord so finding shocks/springs or coilovers shouldn't be too much of a problem.
I believe the braking system as well is the same. Lost of people are doing the Legend GS Twin Piston Caliper upgrade on their Accords so i'm thinking it shouldn't be that difficult for us.

i'm not sure if its any good for boost. there are only a handful of people that have documented proof of the vigor being boosted. i will say this though....

yup, i plan on using it when i do my 5.1 setup in my car

These things are famous for the oil filter housing O Rings leaking, tough place to get into for repairs. Other bad oil leak problems are the typical distributor outer and inner O Rings and shaft seal, valve cover gaskets are popular and in my book any oil leak gets a new PCV Valve and Grommet also. See if the oil drain plug is well marked as such and dont drain the tranny while doing an oil change, certain years are not marked.
Honda is bad for thermostats and cooling fan relays on these cars too. Ignition coils and Ignitors are in my tool box ready to go, easy to get to and easy to swap out for troubleshooting, I dont even break out the oscilloscope on this one. Only seen a couple of bad starters so I wont harp on them too bad but they are in a very bad place, remove the battery to assist in removal / installation. Put a new set of CV Boots on it and call them good, the outer ones that is.
The crank / cam sensor is behind the camshaft gear and it leaks (melts) the epoxy that seals in the electronics, they go bad often over about 60K miles but do not require a timing belt to be totally disassembled, it can be done by just removing the cam timing cover and pulling the gear, put the keyway at 12 o'clock and dont loose the key. Have seen only a couple engine failures from lack of oil changes, I think these motors are torqy but being a Honda, they are interference engines so if the miles are getting up there then change the cam sensor with the timing belt and do the entire job not just the rubber belt alone.
I like the engine and I personally have never seen one pimped out. It does not use platinum plugs so a tune up is affordable, throw in a main relay when you have a few extra bucks too.
