my car started this morning but when i took off my downpipe to go reweld and now it wont start. it cranks over and over but wont start. i took the spark plug wires out and put it near the head block and have somone crank to see if there's spark and there's none. what could be the problem?

i switch out the ignition and coil and now it works. i use a distributor off a 94 civic cx 1.5 non vtec. does anyone know the ign. and coil will work the same for my jdm d16a(usdm d16z6) thanks.
