Help please guys! Crank/Rod Bearings!!!
Hello everyone. Again, I'm stuck in another predicament and I need your advice and wisdom. Yesterday, my car crapped out on me on the freeway heading to my friends house and I supposedly threw a bearing. Now the bearing that is bad is the bearing that is connected between the crankshaft and piston rod. I've never worked on this area of my engine and I need help.
Is there anyway to change this bearing without pulling out the engine and working from underneath by removing the oil pan? If so, please provide with pictures and directions
. That would help a lot. I'm currently stuck at the point of removing the oil pump brackets and it seems that theres more screws that I'm unaware of which evidently stopped me before getting to the crank and pistons. So please help!
Thanks guys and once again, H-tech to the rescue!
