disable seatbeltreminder?
Can anybody (maybe even someone that works for Honda?) tell me if there is any way to disable the seatbelt reminder charm every time you disconect your seatbelt?
I know that with Fords, they have a sequence of things you can do, outlined in the owner's manual, to disable the bell. Hitting the brake, turning the ignition on and off, etc., will turn off the audio reminder, and leave the light reminder active.
Dodge had the same thing in the past, but it was done at the dealer if you wanted it using the old DRB handheld computer.
I would prefer to do it in such a way that the computer does know the seatbelt is disconected, rather than just shorting out the switch in the belt buckle.
Please do not go into the need for seatbelts, you will die if you dan't have it on, you are stupid for not wearing it posts. That is not what I want. Legitimate responses to the question asked only.
Thank you.

well since that is your first post, i am gonna tell u that you are going to die if u don't put ur seatbelt on
. Newayz just go 2 honda and tell em 2 take off the sound thingie or go behind ur dashboard and find the chime and smash it its up 2 u.

I've been looking because I think there is a way to disable the chime.
I, personally, would not want to do this; but I also choose to wear my safety belt.
Now, the sensor on the passenger side, that one wouldn't be a bad one to disable.

Funny thing is, it was not meant to be a flamefest sort of question, but just a genuine question that I wanted answered! Nobody was more shocked than I was to see it become a flameathon about not wearing seatbelts!
In the second thread from over there, somebody suggested I check here, so that is what I am doing.

it is kinda annoying when you drop off ppl and it starts chiming even they took it off when my car is like at rolling speed...i always make sure all my passengers wear their seatbelts before i move my car anyways...so it's a good question imo
hmmm try looking under the seats for a wire and a harness. you might just have to unplug the harness. i don't have a fit but thats what i did with my integra. good luck with it!
You could always buy another seatbelt buckle and insert it into the clasp. The car would recognize the seatbelt as buckled and you would be able to ride around unhindered and die a horrible death in peace
