ECHC - Racing experience ???
Started thinking about this weekend. Of those entered, how many have actual racing experience ??? I know a few do, but does everyone ? Please post what your credentials are. I am starting to get concerned about the "standing start" and first time racers. Adreniline does some amazing and stupid things. I'll start ...
SCCA racer for 3 years. Enough race starts to feel almost relaxed before 1 min warning. Actually feel asleep in the grid at Road Atlanta a few week back due to a clean up delay from the previous race. Never done a standing start before, so this may be good/bad/ugly.

SCCA Double School, NASA Competition School, 1 SARRC, 3 ECRs, taken the green 8 times (schools & races combined, co-driver took two of the ECR starts). SCCA regional license, signed off for NASA National License.
Probably just over ten sprints (sarrc, pro-it), at least as many ECRs and ran the arrc sunday races twice. Took the start on all but maybe one ECR and both times at the arrc (now *those* are crazy). I know what you mean about falling asleep on grid, especially if it's hot!
I really wouldn't mind giving standing starts a try.
I think it should be fun! All I want is to leave CMP without any permanent marks on the car (particularly those green flag, first turn, first lap kind of permanent marks).
I think we'll be fine if everyone keeps a cool head and doesn't get too over exited out there. Remember this is NOT a WC Touring race, Le Mans, F1, etc... it's simply something we do only for *fun*.

Todd Reid here.
this is my third year racing. I run with NASA (of course) and EMRA. Also run some vintage races with my Lotus Super Seven.
All my starts thus far have been rolling. My only racing incident thus far involving massive destruction was in a race start where I was rear ended HARD entering the first turn; this resulted in major damage to the front, rear, and drivers side....
I am very attentive during starts; in fact, you might consider me a little bit of a ***** during them. I prefer to finish the first lap intact and maybe lose a position or two and then go about improving my position rather than taking a big chance in the first lap and maybe surviving.....
