Default Big Question: Vtec-Trans

Does the Tranny play a big roll in Vtec order? (Get ready for a long Story)

Reason why i ask is cause my buddie and i just got done swapping a GSR into his EG hatch obd1 with a p72 ecu-GSr trans which Red Lines at 8,900 and Vtec @ 6,200. We did another b16a+b16 tranny swap to another Eg hatch, with a p28 obd2 ecu, Red lines at 7,200 and vtec at 4,700rpms. WHich is weired cause the p28 is a virgin, untouched*. So it should be redlining at 8,200 and vtec at 5,700.

So then, we were bit lost to why the b16's ecu is unmatching. So we pulled out the GSR Ecu and put it into the EG b16, and then it did the same thing and was 1,000rpm increments off again. Also, to make this story more confusing, we have another b16a in a Eg Coupe with Ls-tranny, which it has no problem shifting at 8,900 with the P72 ecu and vtec at 6,200. But when its in the b16 EG hatch swapping the ECU's, its always 1,000 increments off to vtec and Redline.

Does this have to do with Transmission wise cause of the Short b16 gear ratios compared to the Ls-Gsr trans? I know it has nothing to do with motor wise, and obviously the ECU's are working fine, so our conclusion was it has to be the Transmission gear ratio's thats make the Rpm increment off each time in the EG b16a, right?

* sorry for this long *** explanation
