Default Just bought a Welder..tell me whata think.

I figured id start to learn how to weld so i picked up this

I figured it would be a nice welder to start off with from what i have read.

What will i be able to weld with this though. Probaly not aluminum im to assume?

it says you can do aluminum in the description...

this is a pretty light duty machine... its good that you got one with gas option though....

flux core is bad to start with cause fluxcore is actually pretty hard to do correctly if you have zero experience.... gas mig welding is a hell of a lot easier than gasless mig welding...

this machine is for thin metals though.... just buy or find scrap metal and just practice welding things together.... then when you have that down see what you can make...

My flux core doesnt use gas. Honestly, I diagree with the statement above. I think that flux core welding is a good way to start. I've done a few tig welding. Not as much as I could have. I think having the experience on flux core got me a little more comfortable being that close to the fire........

You'll be able to do intercooler piping and exhaust piping with that all day. You'll realize that the thicker the material is, the cleaner and easier the welds will be.
