you sprayed on way too much. the second pic looks like you caked it on there, i did my dohc zc cover and it came out great.

I did a b16 cover in the krylon wrinkle red and it came out awesome, the vht paint looks to be a better shade of red though. use that, but remember to use ligh coats man.

I used like a 1/4 of a can not even that..... VHT is heat resistant and such also. Krylon says nothing on the can about drytime, or anything.
