Why do people cover the license plate numbers when they post a picture of their car? Are they all wanted by the law? Hot cars? What's the deal here?

 

because theives can trace your address, break in your garage and steal your car.

Have a friend in the DMV. Thieves have connections everywhere. There are probably thieves at the DMV.

I use to know a thief that went to car shows and wrote down plates. He's know in jail but he got away with many parts/cars before he was caught. lojack

I took the license plates off my car, and I park my car in a storage facility and take a bus home...I don't want those ****** thieves knowing where I live.

Anything that lowers the chance, if its not your car, dont post pictures of the ******* plates. Thats how it should be done. You'll never feel the way you do until your **** gets robbed and your on the other end of the stick. Its how all of us feel that have had **** stolen.

Then don't take the responsibility of possibly being part of the theft of their car and stop taking pictures without a 5second edit. I think out of common decency you should do it no matter what.
