Purchased header with incorrect flange. Options?
I bought the DC Sports 4-2-1 two piece ceramic headers for my 1997 accord 4cyl lx auto. I got them off of http://www.car-stuff.com for $274.00. Right after I placed the order I noticed some other online stores I was shopping had a warning for those same headers that read *will not fit 97 accord lx/dx will 3 bolt flange converter* I called car-stuff.com back and questioned my purchase, they assured me it was the right part, they were certain of it. I called Honda to see what they had to say and they told me they made one accord with a 2 bolt flange and one with a 3 bolt flange. I get the headers, get the car up on the lift and they dont fit.STUPID STUPID STUPID, the header down pipe has a 2 bolt flange and my car has a 3 bolt. what stinks is that right after you place an order with car-stuff.com it is irreversable, you have to wait until you get it to return. so here is my question, who makes ceramic or stainless steel headers for my car with a 3 bolt flange? Ive searched online and Im waiting for my performance shop to call me back, so far I havent found any for sure, looking at the pix of what different online stores have the flange bolt is a 2 bolt on every header down pipe, Flowtech might make one but theyre closed so Ill call them tomorrow. Does any body know. I need them to be legal so I can pass smog.

My accord has a set of powercore headers on it, but then i've had these headers since 2001, so I dont even know if the company exists anymore. That is the most info I can give you. You can also try Bosal, see if they make them, and try Aerospeed.
I know that there is a bolt on performance header available for my car that wont require welding... the search continues
So you're willing to go through all that trouble to return your old header (at a loss more than likely), find a new header, order that and wait for it? I personally would just buy a 2 bolt flange and weld it on. Will be much easier on the wallet and is essentially the same thing as the flange sizes are not different.

That wasnt the only problem with the headers, besides the flange, the oxygen censor hole was wrong and the cable was way to short. I heard welding would be more expensive, about how much to have a bolt flange welded? will I run into problems down the line?

O2 sensor should be either a 1 lead wire or multiple lead wire. Both of which can easily be extended if need be.
Cutting off and welding on a flange should take no more than 30 minutes, and that's pushing it. I'd say you'll pay 30$ tops for someone to do all the work. That's why it's nice if you can do it yourself.
You won't encounter any problems if the work is done right. At some point that flange will rot out, but by that point the rest of your mid pipe would be gone.

I talked to a guy at ARD performance. Im taking the car in this week to have the headers put on and the new flange welded on. Im getting either a magnaflow or tanabe exhaust whats your opinion on those two brands ? also how long can I expect the DC headers, new flange, and exhaust to last before they need to be replaced?
