Hi one of my friends at my college directed me to site and said I might be able to get a CARB number, I'm having a lot of trouble trying to smog my car. I was hoping someone could help me out. Thanks

btw since I'm a trail member I cant post in many different forums, I thought this one fitted my question best, since it has to do with a CAI. sorry im not trying to post off topic.

 

Try contacting the manufacturer of the CAI.

 

you might say mine is "homemade." and my stock one got thrown away by someone who didn't know who it was. Ive also checked every junkyard in my area. Only one that had anything was some place in LA(im from San Diego), and it was for $320. Ive also checked with the dealership.

Any smog tech will look at your home made and fail you. End of story. You either need.

1. manufacture of CAI. AEM,etc...
2. Reciept with manufacture name and model.

You are not going to get around this with a CARB number. Don't make me laugh.

Can you borrow a friends CAI?

There are a ton of junk yards down by the border. San Ysidro blvd I believe. There are so many it would take three days to check them all.
