Default Suspension/Shock Absorper Question

So I just swapped out my front suspension for Tokico Illumina's/H&R OE Sport Springs today, but part #10 wouldn't fit over the new spring (new spring was too wide). SHould I cut up the old piece and attempt to re-use it or is it alright just leaving it out?

Just wondering because the car seems to be sitting a bit lower than others with the same springs/engine...

Thanks!

*edit*

Also, I reused part #11 in the diagram (metal dust cover thingy). Would it be detrimental to leave it on or should I take it off? Going back to my friend's place to do the rears tomorrow...sorry, first time installing suspension components!

Did you get the right springs? I got Tokicos on my 90 CRX and my stock dampener worked fine for the kit.

Box for the OE sports is marked 1989-1991 Civic/CRX...did you reuse the factory dust shield (part #11) and rubber dampner (part #10?)

The ride is great on only the front mounted, but the height is really low for H&R OE Sport Springs (even for only a few hours of settling). Of course I'm mainly making my comparison to Tippymann's red project civic, but in comparison...mine is slammed lol. Look more like the race springs.

I did not use the dust shields. If Tippyman has the same set-up I would PM him and ask.
I got the Illuminas strut and spring combo so I'm not too sure. Shouldn't be that off though. Do you have any extra parts?

I just basically kept it strictly stock. Just swapped ou the springs. All I did was put in H&R Sport springs in place of stock.

If you want, ckeck out page 6 of my project thread, I have some new pics in there of my car with the drop.
