Default question on 2 greddy turbo civics in import tuner...

happened to fall upon the importtuner.com site and i noticed that red civic in there...260 hp on greddy kit with stock bottom end?!bullshit or what?!

also this months (may 2002) issue of import tuner has a white civic with "a greddy turbo assembly, using their T3/T4 hybrid and exhaust manifold...excess pressure is relieved through a SARD wastegate" bullshit again? didnt know greddy had T3/T4 and what about the wastegate?

for me...i have the greddy turbo...and was wondering how well the internal wastegate works...i wanna do 15 psi as i am gonna try that supra piston/b16 rod trick this summer with hondata... since nathan was saying that he could take 15 psi on this block setup...will the greddy turbo handle this much? or ditch it and go for inline pro manifold with a T3/T4?

thanks on any insight...

Yep, I am sure they are both crap. Greddy does not have a T3/T4 unless it's going to be released tomorrow or something! Of course on the 260HP, I guess it depends on if it's an SOHC or DOHC. 15PSI should not be a problem on an 18G if that's the one you are talking about...all those DSM guys cranking up the boost with their 16Gs have no problems that I have seen. of course, once they really get up there a lot of them convert to external wastegate.

you'd have to get a new manifold, one w/ a flange for the external wastegate

I think you can get a flange welded onto your Greddy manifold, and it's real easy to take off the internal w/g.
