94-96 El gauge cluster install help into a 92 lude
I have searched on this topic and recently came up on some EL gauges out of a 95 prelude..... i read the write up on this posted awhile ago but i still seem to be lost..... what do i all need to complete this swap and has anyone figured out how to get the tripometer to not reset everytime the car is turned off? That seems to be the problem alot of ppl have. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
yeah I created the thread not too long ago but my account got deleted for some reason out of nowhere.
and no i still haven't figured out why the trip resets.
you need the gauge set, invertor box, harness clips at the gauges. that and a whole lot of patience.

I am not for sure why it would do that, but i am assuming that it is setup like a car radio that has digital tuning. Yellow wire is constant power and red is ignition. I would think that the guage would need an ignition wire as well as a constant wire to keep it going the whole time... The clock on the dash would be the same way
what does the inverter box and harness clips look like? well i think i know what the clips look like but how many should there be ??? Also how difficult is it to change the wiring harness to that of a 94-96 prelude?
what i did was use the cut harness and then spliced it over to my 92 dash harness. You can buy a 94-96 EL gauge harness also and just take the complete dash off and replace it.
Whichever is more convenient for you

either buy the harness and all you gotta do is clip it on.
or just do a lot of splicing with the wiring diagram. i didnt have the harness so thats the route i took.
i actually wrote up all the info you need to do it on my other account. but H-T deleted it for no reason. blame H-T for it. i am too mad to be posting any useful info anymore.
it was basically a compilation of other information from other websites. if you can subscribe to preludeonline.com, you can piece the info together as well. just look harder bro.
