hey I never pass up a chance to post bike pics. Here is my fixie. I use it more to just stroll around the neighborhood. I prefer a road bike for everything else.
Look slike you go a langster as well but with a time trial bike front cassette.

I think I posted this a few months back when I finished it.
It's my retro project.
Now the only thing I realized is the seat nose is kinda flesh colored and I keep thinking my weiner is playing peekaboo.
6 speed sorry

forgive my ignorance, but whut's the purpose of having only one gear. In college at drexel lots of people had this type of bike, i always assumed it was one less thing to get stolen or less weight?

nathan,
the advantages to fixed gear riding are pretty simple. 1. not having gears and brakes saves weight, allowing for an incredibly light cycle. my fuji weighs in at around 14.5 pounds. 2. it requires a lot less upkeep. you'd be surprised at how much can go wrong with a geared bicycle.
i would compare riding a fixed gear to stripping and removing all the unnecessary equipment from your honda i.e. removing interior, ac, abs, power-steering etc. the no brakes thing is kinda like having a wire tuck. ha. what you end up with is a very clean no nonsense way of transportation. hope this helped.

swifty,
there are a couple of ways:
A. find a hill
B. press back on the pedals as they move forward, and it will slow down. this takes MUSKULLS.
C.(and by far the coolest) pop your rear wheel and pedal backwards which causes your rear tire to skid. i.e. a SKID stop. this wears out tires like no other.
