GENERAL:
I bought this car a few months ago from a guy outside of Huntsville, Alabama who had owned it for a little over 4 years and used it as his daily driver and family car that entire time.
My hobby is to buy cars, fix them up a bit, and sell them. I have wanted to have an older more classic car for a while now, but it just seemed like all the ones in my price range either had a good body and bad motor or good motor and bad body, but I finally found one that had both.
I really have enjoyed this car and out of the 29 cars I have owned this one has gotten the most attention and compliments and I must say it has been one of my favorites, but I guess I am spoiled with modern conveniences and just really love newer cars for daily drivers.
This has been my daily driver for the past 2 months or so. I drove it home from Huntsville, AL to Nashville, TN the day I got it with absolutely no problems. I drive it about 4 or so days a week both in town and on the interstate (approx. 200 miles or so a week) and it does excellent and actually gets decent gas mileage.

ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION FROM PREVIOUS OWNER:
Here is a direct quote of the description that the guy I got it from gave me:
“WHEN I AQUIRED THIS CAR THERE HAD BEEN INSTALLED A 73 MODEL 198, AND A 3 SPD WITH OVERDRIVE MANUAL TRANSMISSION IN PLACE OF THE ORIGINAL 170 AND 3 SPD ON THE COLUMN. THE CENTER HUMP WAS CUT TO ACCOMODATE THE OVER DRIVE TRANSMISSION, AND SEALED WITH A FABRICATED PIECE OF SHEET METAL, LEFT REMOVABLE TO ALLOW ACCESS IF NEEDED.
I HAVE DRIVEN THIS CAR ALOT OVER THE PAST SEVERAL YEARS, WE USED THIS CAR WHENEVER WE HAD TO TRAVEL, IT HAS ALWAYS STARTED RIGHT UP, NEVER LEFT US STRANDED, AND WAS ALWAYS VERY ECONOMICAL TO OPERATE. THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION GET GREAT FUEL ECONOMY.
I INSTALLED THE PIONEER AM/FM CD PLAYER, W/ 4- 6X9 SPEAKERS ALL IN THEIR FACTORY HOLES, THERE WERE NO HOLES CUT EXCEPT FOR THE DASH TO ACCOMODATE THE CD PLAYER.
THE TIRES ON THE CAR HAVE ABOUT 10,000 MILES ON THEM, AS DOES THE NEW BELT, ALL HOSES, THERMOSTAT, WATER PUMP, AND COOLANT. CAR RUNS NICE AND COOL, ALL GUAGES WORK AS THEY SHOULD. THE SPEEDOMETER SEEMS TO BE A LITTLE SLOW, RUNNING ABOUT 55 YOU ARE ACTUALLY GOING BETWEEN 60 AND 65. THE CAR WILL TRAVEL NEAR 400 MILES ON A TANK OF FUEL.
THIS CAR HAS BEEN REPAINTED ONCE AND HAD SOME BODY WORK DONE IN THE PAST, IT WAS PROFESSIONALLY DONE, BUT IT IS IN NEED OF SOME SMALL WORK NOW. THERE ARE A FEW SPOTS OF RUST SHOWING AS DOCUMENTED IN THE PHOTO'S. THE QUARTERS ARE SOLID, THERE WAS A PATCH PANNEL INSTALLED ON THE REAR LOWER PASSANGER SIDE AS SHOWN YOU CAN SEE THE SEAM FROM INSIDE THE TRUNK. THE FLOOR BOARDS ARE SOLID, THE TRUNK IS SOLID, AND EVEN BELOW THE SPARE (THAT WAS ALSO REPLACED WITH THE OTHER 4 TIRES, SO ALL 5 MATCH) IS SOLID. CAR HAS NEW PLUGS, WIRES, CAP, ROTOR, POINTS AND CONDENSOR.
THIS CAR HAS A FACTORY MANUAL CHOKE CARTER CARB, SO NO RIGGED MANUAL CHOKE THERE, OR AN AUTOMATIC CHOKE THAT DOES NOT WORK RIGHT. CAR STARTS EVERY TIME, AND RUNS VERY WELL. ENGINE DOES NOT SMOKE, OR CONSUME ANY OIL, NOR DOES IT LEAK. I REALLY HAVE NO IDEA HOW MANY MILES ARE ON THIS CAR. FRONT END IS SOLID, CAR STEERS TIGHT, AND SMOOTH, JUST IS A GREAT RIDING, DRIVING LITTLE CAR.
THE INTERIOR IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION, SEATS ARE VERY NICE, THERE IS A SECTION OF HEADLINER FALLING AT REAR ON PASSANGER SIDE. THE FINISH ON THE STEERING WHEEL IS WORN, AND IT DOES HAVE CRACKS. DOOR PANNELS ARE NICE AS ARE DOOR HANDLES, CARPET IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION.
CAR HAS A NEW EXAUST FROM MANIFOLD BACK, BRAKES ARE GOOD, THEY HAVE BEEN THERE FOR A WHILE, BUT STILL HAVE ALOT OF SERVICE LIFE LEFT. FRONT BRAKE HOSES ARE NEW.
I BELIEVE IN THESE SLANT 6 DODGES, THE 6 IN MY TRUCK HAS LOGGED WELL OVER 400,000 MILES AND ITS STILL GOING.”-----end quote
I spent quite a while talking to the guy I got it from both on the phone before I went to get it and while I was there and the guy absolutely knows his stuff about old Mopars and about this car. This has been an extremely dependable car for me, but I’m just ready to move on to a new project. I honestly don’t want to get rid of it because I like it so much and because of how nice the condition is, but my wife and I can’t afford to have three cars right now.
RECENT IMPROVEMENTS AND MAINTENANCE: (since I’ve owned it)
-New fuel filter
-New plugs
-New spark plug tube seals
-New air filter
-I put new carpet in the trunk to match the interior carpet
-Recent oil change and lube of all grease fittings and a fluid level check of the rear-end and tranny.
-I installed a small tach and extra 12v plug (for my phone and iPod) and painted them to match the dash color. Not an exact match but very close.
-I scraped/removed the old fender well coating and recoated it. The metal under the coating was in great shape and should stay that way with the fresh coating on it now (and it looks better to).
-I just repainted the engine and engine bay and it looks a 100% better.
-I somewhat sewed a small part of the seam in the headliner up, but it’s not a very good job, but at least it doesn’t sag now. It would be a very easy fix for someone with the right needles and sewing abilities.
-The small rust bubbles mentioned in the description have been fixed and touched up the best I could. These were very minor places (only 2 or 3) about the size of a quarter or smaller and two of them being nearly unseen anyway. The most noticeable was/is on the drivers rear fender-well in the very center (see pics). It was not a big spot of rust at all, but I just couldn’t stand to see rust there any longer and I didn’t want it to spread so I did what I could to fix it and prevent more from occurring. I want to reassure you that this car is NO rust bucket. Its one of the most solid 42 year old cars I ever seen to have not had a major restoration, NOT perfect but in really good shape.
-What else can I say, this car really would make someone a cool new daily driver, toy, or project. It wouldn’t take much at all to make it a REALLY nice car or even a show car, but if you are looking for a very nice daily drivable classic, look no further. I mean it even has a CD player and 4-6x9’s, how much better can it get.
-I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere. Come pick it up and drive it home with no problems, I will even deliver it to you up to 100 miles if the price it right.
-This car has its first title ever, since it has been in Alabama its whole life (until now) and AL didn’t require their cars to have titles till around1974? and didn’t require you to acquire a title later on. It is a clean title ready to be signed over to the buyer.
-I think the pictures speak for themselves and if you need more or want a specific picture let me know. MORE PICS COMING SOON!
PRICE:

I mean its a really nice car and I think you would be hard pressed to find one this nice.
