Sup guys, I have Skunk2 coilovers on my 99 GSR, and just recently they have started squeaking like crazy! It's so annoying. Over every little bump they squeak; whether it be roads that aren't perfectly smooth, to speed bumps. If you stand behind the car and push down on the trunk, it makes that squeaking noise too. So, I'm not 100% sure that it's the Skunk2s or could it just be the struts? Any of you guys have this problem? And what can I do to fix it? Any suggestions/ideas would be helpful. Thanks.

 

Well it ain't the struts, cause my girl's 00 Si does the same thing and she has Tokico Illuminas. That squeaking is so annoying, and it's just the rear. Is this just a Skunk problem? I wonder if people using other brands of coilovers experience this same problem. I have a friend with a 01 GS-R and his Skunk2 coilovers don't squeak, and he is still using OEM shocks.

 

did the skunk2's come with those little rubber/plastic things that go on top of the spring?

 

No. My girl's didn't come with any, and my friend with the 01 GS-R either. I don't think that's the cause though, cause his doesn't squeak.
