JUN III or SKUNK2 stage II?
interested in some new cams for my 96 GSR with 47000 miles. planning on doing CTR pistons with skunk2 manifold, and the proper valvetrain, with cam gears. Just cant decide weather to go with JUN III or Skunk2? I know the specs are very similar, and the skunks are alittle cheaper. I have heard nothing but great power gains fro JUN. and I know skunk2 is very reputable. so which one?
Help!!!!

From what I've heard and the Dyno's I've seen, Skunk2 has copied Jun 3's profile for their stage two cams. Depends on if you have the money, if you want to pay for Jun's name I'd go w/ that, skunk2's products are descent and are better priced. So its up to the size of your wallet; if you're hurting go w/ Skunk2, if not...Jun 3 or Toda A/B's

Oh by the way..great mileage on your '96, I'm jealous; just hit 90k

i believe jeff from http://www.importbuilders.com has a dyno graph showing the
skunk stage II's and the JUN 3's and how they compare to
each other. i think both cams were put on the same car with
the same setup.
they pretty much were the same...almost exactly the same.
oh yah..the graph MIGHT be on http://www.importreview.com

I dunno man, i'm feeling a bit weary about jun cams snapping. I say go with the skunk2 stage 2.
Alot of people say that the profiles are copied off of jun, but when you look at the specs the numbers prove that theory wrong.

Sorry i don't have any "proof", but if you talk to anyone on this board and you mention "jun cams snapping", they will say "oh nothing new".

from what i've read from all this, seems like JUN has great customer service. just by that alone i'd fork over the extra couple hundred bucks.

i have known at least 5 sets of Jun 3's breaking/snapping in half. ITs not super common, but its happened enough times that it swayed me over to check out SKunk2 and Toda instead.

I have put over 26,000 miles on my jun cams without any problems. I take it up to 8500 every other day and drive at least 50 miles per day no problems at all. I'd say Jun's quality is very good. Skunk may also good good too.
