NO.

A Testpipe is NOT a cat and Won't pass emissions in NY!

Get a Carsound Cat, Hit the link to IPS racing in my SIG and contact Mike. Tell him what you are interested in and for what application. Let him know how you found him.

Good luck,

A.

PS BTW I'm in NY too.

off there website,

Emitec was founded in 1986. On the way to becoming the world's largest manufacturer of metal substrates for catalytic converters, Emitec has produced a series of innovations and new developments for the latest exhaust aftertreatment systems. These already play a part in meeting the levels-due to be made even tougher in the Future-for Euro-Stage IV. All new developments have as their target the further reduction of vehicle emissions and the extension of useful life of catalytic converter systems. In this way, exhaust gas cleaning efficiency will continue to rise. Building on innovations now ready für production, new developments have been presented for achieving the values demanded by California for Super Ultra Emission Vehicles (SULEV).

True the technology is German, but I was referring to the high-flow Metalit cats used in JDM land on R34 Skylines and FD RX-7s:

There was an article in OPTION about them last year...

That looks like a cat jack(straight pipe)! I prefer to stick with carsound but I wouldn't mind some more info on those Metalit cats...

My understanding is that the Metalit cat flows almost as good as a straight pipe and is very compact, but the downside is cost; If you look in Option, you can see them advertised for around JY50000(!)

I think those are made in Japan.

Also, if I am not mistaken, the S2K cat employs this technology.
