hey all,
BANDIT (84 Gen1 CRX) has a ZC Browntop in it, and the radiator is rooted.
Original radiator takes up the whole front end of the car...just like the ED/EF CRXs/Civics.
Can I 'safely' fit something smaller - as an example maybe an EG civic radiator, B16A/B18C one - or should I stay with the 'stock' size?
thanks

Yes, you can use other radiators. I have a DA radiator in my car right now that I'm about to swap out for an EG radiator. I'm using the top mount from InnovativeMounts.com. The problem with the DA radiator is that it's only mounted on the passanger side, there's nothing for it mount to on the driver's side.

mmm ok hehe... will see how I go.
A friend has an aluminium race radiator installed in his EK Civic... he's selling it for about AU$200. See if I can get some measurements and see how it fits. Would rather get something good if I can otherwise I'll get second hand stock radiator.

Actually, the 1984-1987 Civic CRX came stock with a half width radiator on 1.3 liter models. I'm not sure how well they will cool a larger motor, however.

good point - but we never got the 1.3L here in OZ... both my 1.5L and 1.6L gen1s have full radiators. Civics here all came 1.5L as well.. we never got the 1.3l as far as I know.
I'll have to keep an eye out... thanks anyway!
