Default Cops....very impressed

A little OT but I believe the cops need to be praised when necessary. So I was at the movies with my girlfriend, we saw 3 fast 3 furious (actually not that bad of a movie, but more on that later) and my alarm doesn't work. I took apart my pager to clean the contacts and when I was putting it back together the alarm went off. After about 15 seconds of me kneeling beside my car with the alarm going off the cops show up. They accuse me of stealing me own car at first. When I finally got it to unlock and show my owners card and license they finally believe me and leave me off.

To some, it would of probably been a pain in the ***, but I was very happy to see that the cops gave two ***** and stopped to see what was going on. to the local police department.

On another completely OT subject, the movie actually wasn't all that bad. The acting wasn't great, but i expected a lot worse. Could of been less story though and more car action but oh well, none the less it wasn't all that bad.

The only bad experience of the night was after the movie my girlfriend goes "I want you to drift your car". I just slapped myself in the forehead and shook my head. haha. You'll just have to excuse her.

You know I never really drive the thing much but Friday night might of been the best night in the world for a drive though. Just couldn't resist.

That and the area I'm surrounded by is more obesessed with a diesel truck then an ITR so I feel pretty safe driving it.

hey wuz up? im glad to see the cops doing there job on a side you should neverrrrr take ur itr to the movies/shopping malls, etc...i have heard many horror stories about not being there when they get out. Escpeically during when movies like that come out. Also Pleasssee fix ur alarm before u take her out. I am just giving my advice please dont take it personal. I love every r, and hate hearing about them being stolen.

Good to hear somebody actually checking out an alarm going off. Especially a cop. On a side note, I love to be able to drive my car anywhere. I have never had any problems but its my daily so I really don't have a choice. HaHa.

If your anything like me and park ALL the way in the back of the lot, by yourself with no one other cars within 500 yards of you alarm blaring and all, the cop probably felt obligated to check it out. Plus its a type R he should be suspicious on principle alone. Its good to see they're on top of things in your area though

Great to see a positive experience with the local PD. I'm happy for this thread to not see the, "I got pulled over for my loud abnoxious exhaust!" "So cops suck!"

Parking at the movies, wow, we can't do that around here!

Thanks,
-Victor

I'm sorry everyone for driving my car to the movies. I really don't think its that big of a deal, i know my area fairly well and not saying that it could never happen, but my area is very very safe. I live no where near cities, nothing. I think I should be able to drive the car out for a night. I mean after all, it is a car, it's job in life is to get me from place to place. I just hate how this thread is turning into a "lets hate on him for driving to the movies." I rarely drive it and when its that nice of a night out, i just have to take advantage.

I'm guessing that everyone here must have a car to go to the movies besides their ITR. I don't have the luxury, so i drove my ITR to the movies back to back nights. Thursday night (next to a Evo (maybe they would have to choose which is worth stealing more?)) to see the movie Cars, and friday night to see F&F. I parked right in front of the movie theatre both nights.

I'm in Kentucky and i don't feel it is much a problem because many people don't know what an ITR is. I'm sure they think it some riced out car, but you gotta know where to park your ITR and where not to park your ITR because i would definitely try to bum a ride to the movies if i were back home in Chicago.

Exactly what i'm saying man, you just have to know what area's are safe and what aren't safe. I 100 percent agree with that complete statement.

Whole point of the threat was just to give a little praise to my local police department. Hope the nice work continues.

Not advisable to leave an ITR at any movie theater, ever.

I don't care how diesel F-250 redneckish your area is. Anyone that leaves an ITR unatended for a prolonged period of time is playing with fire.

I wouldn't even leave my RSX at the movies in my area, let alone an ITR.

To your local rollers for giving a ****!

Nobody is hating on you brother, they are simply saying that U did a very risky thing whether u know it or not. Take these guys advise even though they may caome across with a little attitude...lol. U must realize that what you are driving is a goldmine for thieves and theives will stalk you and your ITR just waiting for that moment where you leave it unattended for just a couple mins, cause thats all it takes for them to take it. I thought where I live was SAFE until my 92 GS got broken into and now I am moving and I am paying to have my ITR stored until i move into my own house. I cant drive my ITR for a month and I just got it tuned and shes making 500whp. It kills me not being able to drive it for a while but i wont forgive myself if something happens to her. I imagine you never had your car broken into, but dont wait till something happens for you to wake up. NOWHERE cant be too safe if you have an ITR. I hope u got at least 3 layers of anti-theft. be very careful my brother.

This thread is off topic now but everyone is telling me that they would not drive there R to the movies? I didn't know that many itr owners felt this strong about parking at the movie/ mall. I've been parking in at both the movies/malls for over 4 years, but in the opinion of many ITR owner i must be lucky.
<------ knocks on wood again

I curious to know how many ITR owners have a 2nd car, so they can garage the ITR? Like i said before i don't have the luxury to owning another car, and i refuse to let a car determine weather or not i can go places. But there are places you can park the R and places you can't park the R. I wouldn't park just anywhere in some cities like my hometown of Chicago, New York, all of Florida, and all of Cali. Hell i've parked my car at HIN Chicago 3 years str8 and was able to drive away everytime. I feel the most important is to keep the R in a garage.
