Default Why cant I sell my prelude?

Ive been trying to sell my lude for almost 4 months. I dont get it. Is there just no market for Preludes or what? For those who have sold their Lude's, how long did it take you to sell it and how did you sell it? Whered you put it up for sale? Any help would be great.

new engine and mods? maybe? since people tend to like to buy stock cars.

well your first mistake is planning on buyin an audi.

the awd especially are nothing but minor problems v6 and 1.8t's are complete pita's

and the s4 forget about it.

why do you think you can buy an 98-01 a4 all day long for often times less than 7k. when brand new they were selling for over 27k just as early as 4-8 yrs ago

took me a week to sell my prelude. All of my cars/bikes took me a bout a week or less to sell, sold them all on craigslist.

If you removed the quaife I'd buy it then you could lower your asking price on the car which would help it sell faster.

To be honest, It took me 12+ months of seriously looking for a car before I found my prelude. There's a market for them, thats for sure.

Yeah, it took me over 6 months to find a Prelude.. Only came across a hand full in my area, a auto, an overpriced, one with blown motor... And then the one I did buy.. It was worth the wait.. VERY good price on it..

Yeah, try selling it locally using Auto Trader or something, try the newspaper also.. That's how I sold my last car.. Took about 2 months I think.
Most people are here are looking to fix/upgrade their car, not buy one..

Theres a market, but like others stated b4, take out the diff and maybe the exhaust and sell em seperately.

Theres def a market for preludes, just some ppl are a little pickier than others and on top of that summer is just starting so be patient. Plenty of kids are fresh outa high school now and the parents are gonna wanna buy em something reliable....and something w/Vtec ( haha, jk)

Well if i took out the diff, how much should I ask for the car? Right now the lowest I want to go on the car is $7k. With the diff out, what do you think a reasonable price would be?

why don't you replace the intake, plug wires, header and exhaust with the stock parts if you have them? that, and the bald front tires, but not necessarily the price, seem to be killing the sale.

I dont have any those stock parts any more. I sold them a while ago. As far as the bald front tires, those have been fixed with new rubber I was lookin around on PO.com and saw that an h22 tranny with a Quaife LSD goes for around $1200- $1500. Is that about right?

craigslist or autotrader, plus local ads are the way to go if you ask me. selling on H-T is hard to make happen sometimes.

It says the car has a large dent in the fender, but there is no clear pic of it. You may want to show a pic of it, so the buyers can see if they can repair it.

Like I said before, I think you should just hit up Autotrader for sure, take out that diff, and be patient.

As far as the price goes for the H22 tranny it all depends on how many miles, what else is done to it, finding the right buyer, etc. Just be patient man, someone will want your car that actually has some $. Def dont rush this b/c i'd hate for you to make a decision you regret later.

The link in my sig has been fixed so that it has more pics and this car s a Georgia car. Its only been through 1 winter

As far as seling it its just pissing me off that I cant even sell it for $7000 and yet I see other people on Prelude specific boards listing almost the exact same car for $9800. It just really seems like Im doing something wrong. Im gonna try to get a more detailed list together of everything that has been done to the car and why and ill see how that goes. I never knew selling a car could be so frustrating
